We ended the second wave of Alpha with just under 100 people in total attending our six-week introduction to Catholic Christianity. Thank you so much for the more than one dozen table Hosts and Helpers who built friendships, led discussions, role modeled hospitality, and jumped in wherever needed. The evening hosts and witness speakers tugged on our heart-strings and made the presentations personal; thank you all for sharing your walk with us! We are so blessed to have you all!!
A special shout out goes to the crew who put on and cleaned up the weekly Soup’n’Salad: The St. John Knights of Columbus and Boy Scouts tirelessly gave their Friday afternoons week-after-week; thank you, thank you! Sarah Crandall headed up the soup’n’salad-making team: Amy Kaiser, Michelle Willett, Lisa McGilvra, Ann Marie Raehtz, Gina Okoniewski, Cathy Chapin, and Gordon Peckham. All of these volunteers, along with sizeable donations each week from the patrons, allowed us to provide the Friday Alpha at absolutely no cost to the participants or from the parish budget! Thank you to Mai Vu and her husband Canh for making homemade eggrolls and rice for our Saturday Alpha weekend. Also Diane Manor, Diane and Ted Ellis, Lara and Corwin DuPuis and everyone else who piled on the food for that Saturday!
In the weeks ahead we will share the details of our Alpha 2 report; including the next wave of Inquirers and Candidates who have begin the RCIA process!
