As we lean into the graces of the National Eucharistic Revival and Congress, Fr. Chas invites us to “fall in love with the Eucharist” as we explore the “Bread of Life Discourse” of John’s Gospel, Chapter 6.

Homily #1

As Fr. Chas begins a homily series in conjunction with the upcoming National Eucharistic Congress, he reminds us that whenever we celebrate the Holy Mass, a miracle happens!

Homily #2

Fall in love with the Eucharist and share that love with our brothers and sisters across our beloved country!  Jesus gives us the peace and healing and nourishment for which our hearts long, and he does so most concretely with the Eucharist.

So, what keeps us from growing closer to the Lord in the Eucharist? Ignorance (a lack of knowledge about Jesus) or indifference (a lack of truly caring or devoting time daily)?  Listen to Fr. Chas’ homily and Fr. Mike Schmidt’s words (from the Eucharistic Congress) here to ponder this further for yourself.

Homily #3

Author Flannery O’Connor’s words give us much to ponder: “If it’s just a symbol, to hell with it.”

Our Eucharistic Lord, giving the gift of Himself, calls us to receive so as to give in turn!

Homily #4

Fr. Miguel, continuing the theme, asks, “If we don’t desire God, how long will our pursuit of Him last?  Will our surrender to his love be sufficiently deep?”

Homily #5

For what kind of bread are you hungry?  Fr. Chas shares the story of one of our dear long-time parishioners and the powerful effects Holy Communion had during his life…and dying hours

Homily #6

As Fr. Chas continues his series on the Eucharist,  he invites us to ask the Lord for the grace of illumination, opening ourselves to the gift of faith!

Homily #7

“This saying is hard; who can accept it?” John 6:60

When it comes to the Bread of Life discourse in John, Chapter 6, Jesus did not back down or back pedal; in fact, Jesus let those who doubted walk away in unbelief.

If we have walked away from the Eucharistic table, it doesn’t have to be the end of our story! Ask for the grace of illumination.

If loved ones have walked away, it doesn’t have to be the end of their story! Let’s intercede for those who don’t yet know our Lord in the Eucharist, that they may believe the Eucharist is really Jesus here …to be WITH us and IN us!
