Examining the Persian beauty pageant and how Esther fares
We will be taking two weeks off and will reconvene on January 6 as we continue our study of Esther with Chapter 4.
In this session, we will walk through Esther 2:16–3:13, examining the Persian beauty pageant and how Esther fares within it. Together, we will explore God’s providence at work behind the scenes, uncover important typology, and examine the historical and spiritual significance of Haman’s connection to long-standing enemies of the Jewish people. The discussion will also introduce the Jewish Feast of Purim and take a deeper look at the roots of historical hatred toward the Jewish people as revealed in this pivotal section of the text.
