Dear Parish Family,
Congratulations to our St. John sixth grade class who celebrated their graduation last Wednesday. This class has been an example of service to our parish from the choir loft to serving at the altar. Over this year I’ve seen an amazing combination of parents, volunteers, staff and students come together to make St. John School a very special place! Thank you to each and every person that contributes their time, talents, and treasure to our school.
Beginning this next school year, we will be opening Little Saints Child Care! Please let all the parents with young children know about this exciting addition to the ways we assist families in the care and formation of their children. Our hope is that the families who use the child care, Catholic or non-Catholic, will fall in love with our wonderful school community and decide to send their children to our preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school!
My heart is filled with gratitude for these ten years of priesthood, which I celebrated with a couple of brother priests from my class last Thursday. To mark the occasion, we offered Mass together at Lansing Catholic Central’s St. John Paul the Great Chapel, one of our favorite saints, on June 11, the very date of our ordination ten years ago and the feast of St. Barnabas.
Let’s pray for a priestly vocation to come from our very own parish. Encourage the young men in your life to consider discerning the priesthood at seminary. While I was at first resistant as a young man, I now cannot picture being anything but a priest of Jesus Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Chas
