Participate in the Mass
Are you interested in helping with the celebration of the Mass? We are always looking for more people to contribute to our sacred liturgy. There are many ways to get involved.
Lector Ministries
The proclamation of the Sacred Scriptures is an essential part of our Sunday worship. Men and women who are entrusted with the awesome and challenging responsibility of proclaiming the Scriptures to the assembly become communicators of God’s very self. They bring the Word of God to life for His people. Just as God blesses men and women with wonderful singing voices, He also gifts many with the ability to make their proclamation of the Word clear and expressive.
Please call the Parish Office for training and information.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are trained members of the parish who assist in the distribution of the Eucharist to the assembly of believers at weekend and special feast day liturgies throughout the year.
Please call the Parish Office for training and information.
Music Ministry
The St. John choir and cantors use their musical talents to help the congregation enter into the worship of God and enhance the liturgies on Sundays and Holy Days.
Contact Dominic Kryst for more information.
Sacristans
These individuals have been specially trained to set up the liturgical vessels and offertory gifts before each Mass.
For more information, please contact Shayne Slough.
Ushers and Greeters
Our ushers greet, seat, and make everyone feel welcome and at home at our liturgical celebrations. At the weekend assembly, they collect the gifts of the participants and prepare for their presentation at the offertory, and assure that the funds are secured after the liturgy. They are also available to assist in handling emergencies or other situations that may arise during the liturgies.
