Prayers for Mass & Communion

Prayer Before Mass
Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You are truly present in the Most Holy Eucharist.
Prepare my heart to receive You with faith, reverence, and love.
Cleanse me of my sins, free me from distraction, and help me offer this Mass for Your glory and the salvation of souls.
Amen.

Prayer After Holy Communion (Anima Christi)
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Your wounds hide me.
Separated from You let me never be.
From the evil one defend me.
At the hour of my death call me,
and bid me come to You,
that with Your saints I may praise You
forever and ever. Amen.

Spiritual Communion (for those unable to receive)
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Prayer of Thanksgiving After Mass
Lord Jesus, I thank You for the gift of Yourself in the Holy Eucharist.
Remain with me, strengthen me in faith and charity,
and help me to live as a true witness of Your love in the world.
Amen.
