The Book of Matthew – Chapter 13:32-14:12, Episode 32

In Episode 32 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine Matthew 13:32-14:12 as Jesus continues teaching through the Kingdom Parables. We explore the parables of the hidden treasure, the pearl of great price, and the dragnet, each revealing the incomparable worth of the Kingdom of Heaven and the importance of responding wholeheartedly to God’s invitation. Jesus also explains the Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds, shedding light on God’s patience, judgment, and ultimate victory over evil. The episode concludes with the account of John the Baptist’s martyrdom and a look at the complex and often troubled history of the Herodian dynasty that played a significant role in the New Testament.
