Fr. ChasDear Parish Family,

The troubling incidents of violence we have heard about in recent times both here in Jackson and in other parts of the country, as well as the state of political discourse and disregard for the law, have gotten many of us worried about the future of our society.
The hostility and chaos we see are the fruits of our society turning away from God and his commandment of love.  During these dark times, do not feel helpless because we draw strength and hope from our faith and relationship with Jesus, the Lord of history, who reminds us, “In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world” (Jn 16:33).

Therefore, we are not powerless.  Blessed Mother Teresa said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”  This is something all of us can do, whether it is our residential home with our immediate family or our spiritual home here with our spiritual family.  We can all love our family.  And it may be the one most important thing that we can all do to change our world for the better.

More on the Organ
As mentioned in a past bulletin article, both our Worship Commission and Finance Council agreed with our choir director and organist, Dominic Kryst, and his presentations to begin a Pipe Organ Fund.  The fund allows those parishioners interested in having a true pipe organ to contribute to that cause.  In his update, Dominic gives us further information, as well as an invitation for those who want to know more or give their input to an open forum with the Organ Committee on Thursday evening, August 11.

Keep the faith!
Fr. Chas
