The Jackson community has a long strong history of publicly praying against the evil of abortion in the places where it takes place or is promoted in our community. Long before I was involved there were prayer warriors praying in front of the offices of local doctors who did abortions in Jackson. There are now NO doctors locally doing abortions in Jackson. Again, before I was involved a group of pro-lifers began praying in front of Planned Parenthood in Jackson. There has been a regular prayer presence there now for over 15 years. Planned Parenthood has steadily decreased their hours of operation in Jackson. There are currently only two of us who are there on a regular basis. Help is needed. We are changing our weekly day and time and hoping that some of you will be able to join us.
Weekly Prayer in front of Planned Parenthood starting March 12, 2018 will be:
Mondays from 10-11 am.
You do not need to commit to coming every week or to staying for a full hour; just put it on your calendar and join us when you can. Every person and every prayer makes a difference!
If you are Catholic you might want to start your Monday by attending 9:00 am Mass at Queen’s or 8:30 at St John’s (which might leave time for a cup of coffee in between) and then head over to PP afterwards. Receiving the Lord in the Sacrament is a great way to prepare for the spiritual battle taking place at this site of great darkness.
A strong regular prayer presence in front of Planned Parenthood is very important for these reasons:
– First of course because of the power of prayer to save lives and change hearts.
– We can touch the hearts of those working in and visiting the business.
– We remind our community of this darkness in our midst.
– It is a strong message to Planned Parenthood that Jackson stands against them and thus influences their decisions about the extent of their outreach here.
