Suffering, Priesthood, and the Mystery of Salvation: Jesus, Melchizedek, and the Warning of Hebrews 6

In Chapters 5 and 6 we delve into some deep thoughts again on the role of priests, why must sacrifices be made, why is suffering so central to this plan of salvation, and how can Jesus be “made perfect” through suffering? How can Jesus, being God, learn and be perfected? There are some attempts to explain the Trinity and how the Son is eternally begotten, linking Father and Son sort of like linking a Thinker and a Thought. Also the introduction of a most perplexing few lines in chapter 6 where Paul’s Pupil says “it is impossible” for certain Christians to ever come back to repentance. Who could that be? All this plus an introduction to the mysterious figure of Melchizedek.
