In Episode 34 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine all of Chapter 15, one of the richest and most challenging chapters in the Gospel. Jesus confronts the Pharisees over their traditions and explains why true holiness is not found merely in external rituals but in a transformed heart. We explore the controversy surrounding ritual handwashing, Jesus’ explanation to His disciples, and the remarkable encounter with the Canaanite woman whose persistent faith wins praise from Christ. The chapter concludes with additional healings and the miraculous feeding of four thousand people. This episode is packed with important teachings about faith, purity, humility, discipleship, and the expanding reach of God’s Kingdom.
