Jesus calls His disciples to confront sin decisively and respond to evil with radical love, mercy, and self-giving sacrifice.

In Episode 15 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we continue through the Sermon on the Mount with Matthew 5:29-42. Jesus teaches about the seriousness of sin, the sanctity of marriage, and the Christian response to injustice and persecution. Through teachings on turning the other cheek, giving more than is demanded, and going the extra mile, Christ reveals a way of life that is radically different from the values of the world. Rather than responding to evil with retaliation, Jesus calls His followers to overcome evil with love, mercy, and self-sacrifice.
