Jesus teaches the true meaning of prayer, introduces the Our Father, and reveals the profound mystery of God’s fatherhood.
In Episode 17 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine Matthew 6:7-11 as Jesus continues His teaching on prayer in the Sermon on the Mount. We explore what Christ means when He warns against “vain repetition” and why this passage does not condemn repeated prayers such as those found in Jewish and Catholic traditions. The study also introduces the Our Father, the prayer given directly by Jesus Himself, and reflects on the rich theology of God’s fatherhood and our identity as His beloved children.
