Jesus reveals the meaning of daily bread, the necessity of forgiveness, and the choice between earthly treasures and heavenly treasures.

In Episode 18 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we continue through the Sermon on the Mount with Matthew 6:11-21. This session explores the rich meaning of “daily bread” in the Lord’s Prayer, including the unique Greek word used by Jesus and its significance for both our physical and spiritual lives. We also examine Christ’s teaching on forgiveness, the one petition of the Our Father that He specifically chooses to explain further. The study concludes with Jesus’ teachings on fasting and His challenge to choose between earthly treasures and heavenly treasures, setting the stage for His comparison of two ways of living and two masters.
