Jesus reveals His unique relationship with the Father, proclaims Himself Lord of the Sabbath, and demonstrates the mercy at the heart of God’s law.

In Episode 28 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we explore Matthew 11:25-12:21, one of the richest and most profound sections of the Gospel. Jesus offers a beautiful prayer to the Father, revealing the intimate relationship between the Father and the Son and inviting all who are weary to find rest in Him. We then examine Christ’s teachings on the Sabbath, His startling claims regarding the Temple, and His healing of the man with the withered hand. Throughout these passages, Jesus reveals that He is greater than the Temple, Lord of the Sabbath, and the fulfillment of God’s promises. This section powerfully illustrates how mercy, restoration, and relationship with God stand at the center of the Christian life.
