Jesus confronts the Pharisees, explains the unforgivable sin, and points to the sign of Jonah as proof of His mission.

In Episode 29 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine Matthew 12:22-42 as Jesus continues His confrontation with the Pharisees. After healing a man possessed by a demon, Jesus responds to accusations that His power comes from evil rather than from God. This leads to one of the most discussed passages in Scripture: the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. We also explore Christ’s teaching on the importance of our words, His criticism of those demanding signs, and His reference to the sign of the prophet Jonah, which points forward to His death and resurrection. Throughout this section, Jesus reveals both the seriousness of rejecting God’s grace and the overwhelming evidence of His divine mission.
