Jesus teaches about marriage, celibacy, wealth, and the radical demands of discipleship in the Kingdom of Heaven.

In Episode 39 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine Matthew 19:1-26 as Jesus responds to questions about marriage, divorce, and the cost of following Him. Christ reaffirms God’s plan for marriage as a lifelong covenant and challenges His listeners to embrace obedience to God’s design rather than conforming to cultural expectations. We also explore Jesus’ teaching on those who freely choose celibacy for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. The passage then turns to the encounter with the rich young man, whose struggle to surrender his possessions reveals the challenge of placing God above all else. Jesus concludes with the famous image of a camel passing through the eye of a needle, teaching profound lessons about wealth, attachment, and salvation.
