Jesus teaches about God’s generosity, servant leadership, and prepares His disciples for the final journey to Jerusalem.

In Episode 40 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we conclude Chapter 19 and explore all of Chapter 20 as Jesus’ public ministry draws to a close before His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. We examine the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, where Jesus reveals the surprising generosity and grace of God. Christ then foretells His Passion, death, and resurrection for the third time, preparing His disciples for what lies ahead. We also consider the request of the mother of James and John for places of honor in Christ’s Kingdom and Jesus’ powerful teaching that true greatness is found in humble service. The chapter concludes with the healing of two blind men near Jericho, whose faith and persistence point toward the spiritual sight all disciples are called to receive.
