Jesus enters Jerusalem as the promised Messiah and boldly cleanses the Temple, revealing His authority and zeal for His Father’s house.
In Episode 41 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine Matthew 21:1-13 as Jesus enters Jerusalem in His triumphal entry, fulfilling Old Testament prophecy and openly revealing Himself as the promised Messiah. Welcomed by crowds waving palm branches and crying, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” Jesus begins the final week of His earthly ministry. The episode then turns to the cleansing of the Temple, where Christ drives out the merchants and money changers, declaring that His Father’s house is to be a house of prayer. These dramatic events mark the beginning of Holy Week and reveal both Jesus’ kingship and His authority over true worship.
