Creation, Covenant, and the Breath of Life (Genesis 2:4–17)
In Episode 44 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine Matthew 22:15-46 as Jesus continues His public confrontation with the religious leaders during Holy Week. The Pharisees, Herodians, and Sadducees each attempt to trap Him with difficult questions, but Jesus responds with perfect wisdom every time. We explore His famous teaching to “render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God,” His response concerning the resurrection, and His declaration of the greatest commandment: to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. The chapter concludes as Jesus asks His opponents a question about the Messiah that leaves them speechless, revealing His divine identity and authority.
