Jesus teaches His disciples about faith, humility, and the importance of caring for the “little ones” in the Kingdom of Heaven.

In Episode 37 of our study of the Gospel of Matthew, we examine Matthew 17:14-18:14, a section filled with pivotal teachings for Jesus’ disciples. We begin with the dramatic healing of a boy possessed by a demon after the disciples are unable to cast it out themselves, leading to important lessons about faith and dependence on God. We then encounter the unique miracle of the temple tax coin found in a fish’s mouth before moving into Jesus’ teachings on greatness in the Kingdom of Heaven. Christ calls His followers to become like children and repeatedly emphasizes the importance of protecting and caring for the “little ones.” This theme becomes a key thread throughout the passage, revealing God’s special concern for the humble, vulnerable, and those who belong to Him.
