Standing Firm in Trials: Jude’s Final Encouragement and the Powerful Opening of James

End of Jude and James 1:1-3. Jude ends beautifully, giving a short list of remarks helping us disciples stay on track in the face of false teachings. Then we begin the amazing letter of James. James is most likely James the Just, cousin of Jesus, brother of Jude, perhaps son of Clopas (one of the men on the road to Emmaus)! James writes to those in the “dispersion” and begins his letter telling us to welcome trials with joy!
