Fr. ChasDear Parishioners & Guests,

The great celebration of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum often brings visitors to our parish.  If you are one of them, I extend to you a warm welcome on behalf of all the parishioners of St. John, “the Mother Church of Jackson.”  For over 150 years, the steeples of this church have served as a beacon in Jackson, reminding our neighbors that St. John parish is still here, ready to welcome all people and help them discover or deepen their relationship with Christ.

We hope you have a beautiful Easter experience here by which you encounter the Lord Jesus Christ in a special way.  There can be so much anger and division in our world that we need a spiritual refuge to which we can regularly go to recharge, renew, and let God take away all the cynicism and negativity and replace it with his peace and joy.

If you sense God’s Spirit as you worship during these holy days, we invite you to consider coming each Sunday and becoming part of our spiritual family.  “Catholic” literally means universal.  Being part of St. John Parish, which includes St. Joseph Oratory at 707 N. Waterloo, not only connects you with brothers and sisters in Christ here in the Jackson area, but makes you part of the worldwide family of God that has Pope Francis as our spiritual father.

We invite you to take this bulletin home with you, check out our website, www.stjohnjackson.org, and allow the celebration of Christ’s Passion and Resurrection to be a part of your life year round.  Jesus desires to be a positive force, a personal friend, and a powerful Savior in your life.  Join us in this journey of faith, consider our next Alpha Course, our introduction to Christianity, or our Catholicism 101 class that meets every Wednesday night.  For more information, contact Todd Gale in our parish office 784-0553 (todd@stjohnjackson.org).

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Chas
