Attending Mass, serving others, and celebrating Sacraments is terrific (the Eucharist is the Source and Summit of the Christian life!), but Jesus also invested three years of his life into the friends who would launch Christianity out into the world. His method was to spent time with a few people praying, digging deep into Scripture, mentoring, building trust, and then sending them out to duplicate what he had done with them.

At St. John we are using an evangelization small group model in partnership with Evangelical Catholic, an organization that has been doing this on college campuses for decades and is now replicating that success in parishes. We also will be hosting a FOCUS Missionary, whose primary ministry is to disciple individuals. We need a small army of Group Leaders and folks trained to do “one-on-one discipleship”; and we need participants willing to give a few weeks of their time to commit to meetings, prayer, Scripture, service, Sacraments and the authentic Christian life.

Are you willing to answer the call of the Great Commission? Want to get involved in a small group near you?
