Thank you to all who came to the Installation Mass at noon last Sunday! Because it has been 19 years since the last one, this was the first time for many to be at an installation. A few commented to me of their surprise at being so moved by it, and I certainly had a lump in my throat there in the renewal of my priestly vows (something I did not know was part of the ceremony).
I am especially grateful for all those who gave of their time in preparing for the bishop’s visit and
participating in the liturgy. Among the many was Fr. Kurian, Deacons Al and Mike, our parish staff, our pastoral and finance councils, the choir which included many of our school children, and all the folks who contributed to the lovely reception afterward.
As I mentioned at the end, a pastor is meaningless without a flock. So as I dedicate myself as your pastor, I ask for your commitment as well to being Christ’s active presence in our community. Only together will the Good News be shared and God’s kingdom here in Jackson flourish. I am thrilled to be journeying together with you as the Body of Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Chas
