todd_fb_squareIn Episode 5 of our study in 1 Corinthians, we dig deep into the Catholic approach to Scripture with the LITERAL sense and the SPIRITUAL senses of Scripture.

St. Paul’s imagery of building a temple in 1 Corinthians Chapter 3 lends itself well to the spiritual senses of Allegory (layers of symbolic meaning), Action (the application and moral action we are called to DO), and Anagoge (a Greek word that means “leading” — how does this lead us to heaven?).

This section of Chapter 3 is often used as a Scripture reference to Purgatory. The discussion has tremendous depth! Thanks so, so much to all the people who contribute to making this Bible study an amazing part of our week.
