Dear Parish Family,
Every July, as priests reach the age of retirement and receive “senior priest” status, new pastors are assigned at the parishes from which they retire. Sometime during their first year at their new assignments, the bishop visits each parish with new pastors and “installs” them. Bishop Boyea is here this Sunday for my installation at the noon Mass. These first few months as your pastor have been wonderful, so I am looking forward to “making it official.”
Speaking of our diocese, CNN’s Lisa Ling has done a documentary on some of our priests in the diocese as part of her series, “This Is Life,” which will air this Sunday evening at 10pm. Fr. Mathias Thelen will be among the priests featured, so check it out!
