Fr. ChasDear Parish Family,
It is good to be back after our World Youth Day journey in beautiful Kraków, Poland with our young people to reaffirm and celebrate our Catholic faith with Pope Francis!  We got back to Michigan on Monday, the day after an nearly 2 million people at World Youth Day celebrated Mass with the Holy Father, along with an unforgettable candlelight prayer vigil the evening before.

THANK YOU for all your prayers!  World Youth Day is an event that bears much fruit in the lives of our young Catholics.  WYDs are always grueling, but well worth it to see the young encounter Jesus and his Church in powerful ways! It’s such a memorable and formative experience that they will take with them unto eternity!  Since our guest preacher, Fr. Charles Bruzon (see his short introduction later in this bulletin), is with us this Sunday, you’ll hear more about World Youth Day in a future homily.

Finally, this was an even more special World Youth Day for our Coordinator of Youth Ministry, Hannah Stevens.  In the idyllic setting of St. Mary’s Basilica on the Rynek Główny, Krakow’s main square, with Jesus in the Eucharist exposed on the altar and Matt Maher leading the worship music, Hannah’s now fiancé asked her if she would marry him!  Congratulations, Hannah!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Chas
