Dear Parishioners,
As we embark on another week of celebration and reflection highlighting Catholic Schools, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and contributions to our parish community. Your dedication and generosity have truly made a difference in the lives of many, and we are immensely thankful for the vibrant spirit that defines our community.
This week, as we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, we are excited to share a lineup of special activities that will bring us closer together in faith, appreciation, and shared joy. We invite you to join us in these meaningful events that showcase the essence of our community.
Parish Appreciation on Sunday:
- The harmonious voices of our choir will uplift our spirits during the 10am Mass on January 28. Let us come together to celebrate the gift of music and praise as we start the week on a melodious note. We also have a thank you to hand out at all the masses.
Also join us at the St. John School Open House! Explore our faith and family based environment for prospective students in preschool-6th grade. To our parishioners, come see our renovations after the flood in the north hall last year and see how your support helps carry on our faith for so many families. Thank you for your unwavering support. The open house is from 11am-12pm on Sunday, January 28.
Staff Appreciation on Monday:
- Monday is dedicated to showing our heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure the success and growth of our Catholic school. Your support means the world to them, and a simple gesture of gratitude can go a long way. Families are asked to share a note of gratitude.
Jackson Catholic School Appreciation on Tuesday:
- Lumen Christi hosts a special all-school mass on Tuesday for grades 3-6. This gathering is an opportunity for our entire school community to come together in worship and unity, reinforcing the values that bind us.
Student Appreciation on Wednesday:
- Wednesday is a day to express our gratitude to the heart and soul of our Catholic school – our students. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication inspire us every day, and we want to take a moment to celebrate each and every one of you. Students will play games and enjoy a special treat.
Family Appreciation Day on Thursday:
- Family is at the core of our community. Thursday’s annual Family Lunch is a special occasion to come together, share a meal, and appreciate the bonds that make us a true family in faith.
Faith Appreciation on Friday:
- The week culminates in a special Mass on Friday dedicated to our shared faith. Join us in reflecting on the blessings we have received and expressing our gratitude for the unshakeable foundation of faith that binds us together. Mass will be in the school gym at 9am. Please join us to help celebrate St. John School and the reason we exist – our Catholic faith.
As we engage in these activities throughout Catholic Schools Week, let us remember that it is the collective spirit of our parishioners that makes these moments truly special. Your presence, support, and contributions are the cornerstones of our vibrant community, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
May this week be a celebration of our shared journey in faith, love, and community. Thank you for being an integral part of our parish family.
In gratitude and unity,
Renee Hornby
